The Nottingham Forest midfielder becomes the club’s first player to represent England at the World Cup since Pearce and Des Walker featured at Italia ’90.
Anderson has enjoyed an outstanding season for Forest, making 49 appearances ahead of the Premier League finale against AFC Bournemouth.
The 23-year-old has also earned seven England caps since making his senior debut in September 2025.
“It’s incredible, we’re so delighted. If I’m one of the last for a club of the magnitude of Nottingham Forest, one of the beauties of it is when the squad was announced, it was no surprise he was in the squad," Pearce told Forest website.
“He’s almost one of the main starters. For what he’s done this season for club and country, he’s been outstanding and it’s given me great pride as an ex-Forest player, for certain.
“I think he’ll really enjoy the experience without a doubt. He hasn’t been to a tournament of that magnitude before, but I think he’ll enjoy the experience and being part of the squad. And hopefully he’ll come back as a victor!”
