Edin Dzeko insists there's "no favourite" ahead of Bosnia's World Cup playoff against Italy.

Now with Schalke, Dzeko has deep ties with Italian football thanks to his days with Inter Milan, Roma and Fiorentina.

"I don't know which of the two teams can be considered the favourites," said the 40 year-old striker.

"Even though we're playing at home, we clearly can't consider ourselves the favourites.

"We played a great match, beating Wales, which is never easy, with a bit of luck but also quality. Now we need to rest and then we'll try to beat Italy.

"It would mean everything. Not just for me, but also for the new generation. There's so much quality, so many good players: it would be fantastic for them and their careers. I hope we can do it."
