TMW says Kante has convinced Al-Ittihad to allow him to leave before the winter market closes.
Now Fener are discussing a fee with the Saudis for the veteran midfielder, who's deal with Al-Ittihad is inside it's final six months.
With Fener, Kante has had a deal settled since before Christmas.
Al-Ittihad are now working on finding a replacement for Kante, with coach Domenico Tedesco keen to not be caught short with days left of the January transfer window.
