The Saudi Pro League is preparing fresh moves to sign Salah who decided to stay on Merseyside last summer after his future under question once again.
Al Ittihad saw a £150M offer for Salah rejected in summer 2023 and could also reignite their interest in the Egyptian who, at nearly 34 years old is a shadow of his old self under manager Arne Slot.
Speaking to BetGoat, Hamann has revealed that he thinks Salah should leave as he is becoming a distraction rather than a leader at the club.
"Mo Salah could have gone to Saudi Arabia last season and didn't. I'm not sure he wants to go there. But if you ask me today, the best solution would be to part ways. It would probably benefit him and the team.
"He came out with statements I didn't really understand, and if he stays, it lingers around the camp. Every time he doesn't play, the manager gets asked why, and it becomes a distraction."
The chance to say a proper goodbye to the Reds and their supporters is said to be important to Salah after several successful years at the club.
This rules out a January exit and when summer rolls around it looks like the veteran will depart and wave farewell to fans in the final game of the season.
