The 21-year-old picked up an injury against Newcastle United earlier this week in the loss that led to manager Thomas Frank being sacked by the board after mass criticism.
As reported by the BBC and football.london, Odobert will have surgery for a ruptured ACL in yet another injury blow for Tottenham who already have over 10 players such as Pedro Porro, James Maddison and Richarlison out injured.
Odobert will miss several weeks or even months of action even if he does not undergo surgery as his season comes to a close in what is devastating news for the youngster.
L'Equipe reports that the Frenchman is likely to undergo surgery in the coming days as Spurs try to solve the issue as soon as possible so that he can be ready for pre-season after the summer.
The club gave an update on Odobert on Thursday afternoon as injuries stack up for the club who are still without a head coach.
“We can confirm that Wilson Odobert has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
“Wilson will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, and will then commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”
Alongside Maddison, Porro and Richarlison, Tottenham are also without the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison, Ben Davies, Lucas Bergvall, Destiny Udogie and Kevin Danso.
