Liverpool welcome Galatasaray to Anfield following a 1-0 loss last week which has put the club’s European hopes under pressure as the Premier League champions aim to claw back a result.
The Reds were knocked out in the last 16 by holders Paris Saint-Germain last season and could suffer the same fate against the Turkish giants if they do not wake up under Arne Slot.
At Anfield, Liverpool have won 15 of their last 19 fixtures in UEFA competition and as Galatasaray do not have away fans for the clash all signs point towards a positive result.
However, Slot will be without Conor Bradley (knee), Giovanni Leoni (knee), Joe Gomez (other) and Wataru Endo (ankle) for the clash as he relies on Ibrahima Konate, Jeremie Frimpong and Virgil van Dijk in defence.
Summer signing Alexander Isak is still dealing with a calf/shin/heel injury and won’t be available for Wednesday’s game, with Slot giving an update on the Swedish striker in his press conference.
“Alex is not available for tomorrow, but the fact you see him on the pitch tells you that he gets closer and closer to joining us again,” said Slot.
“Not really (any timeframe on his return), but he will not be available for Saturday as well.
“When you don't train with the team yet, you are not ready to play, and as well all know if you have done for months on the individual session, it is also a step up to train with the team, and when you train with the team again, it is quite a step up to playing in the Premier League or Champions League.”
