Following a disappointing 1-1 draw against relegation candidates Tottenham, fans booed the Liverpool squad along with Slot as they continue their poor run of form.
This draw came after a loss to Galatasaray and now the side face the Turkish giants once again this week as they attempt to book a place in the Quarter Final.
A loss would crush their European dreams, but Murphy spoke to CasinoHawks about how Slot could survive even if fans would be furious.
“I think the Galatasaray game is monumental for them. If they were to go out at home to lesser opposition, no matter what they spend on one or two players and the wages they pay, this is not a team that Liverpool should be struggling against.
“I still think they'll keep him till the end of the season. I don't think they're the type of owners who do things erratically. Well, never say never. You never know in football, do you?
“I would imagine even if the worst happens, he'll still get to the end of the season, but I don't think the fans would tolerate it. There may be a tiny minority, but I think the majority now are banking everything on this Champions League run.
“I think Liverpool will edge through, I'll go 2-0. I think it'll be tight with some scary moments, but they will go through.”
Liverpool are fifth in the Premier League, out of the EFL Cup and if they exit the Champions League would have just the FA Cup to play for under Slot who is close to being sacked as pressure continues to grow on the Liverpool boss.
