City confirmed that manager Guardiola will leave the club after Sunday's final match of the season after over a decade in charge.
The legendary manager led the club to 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles in 10 top-flight seasons in charge.
Following months of speculation around his future, Guardiola will finally leave as reportedly steps aside for former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
City's draw at Bournemouth on Tuesday meant Arsenal were crowned champions for the first time in 22 years but he still collected the FA Cup and EFL Cup in his final season.
Speaking to Stake, Evra has revealed why Guardiola stepped down in an announcement that was a long time coming.
“Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and the players are faithful to the club. I don't see them leaving, to be honest. I feel like they know Enzo Maresca.
“The structure of the club is stronger than the manager. This is the case for City. But why is Guardiola leaving?
“The penalty (financial charges) is coming, all of that. Let's see. Let's see what's going to happen. But if nothing happens, I don't see the fall of City.”
The 115 charges relate largely to a range of alleged financial rule breaches by City between 2009 and 2018. No ruling has come yet as fans wait impatiently to see what punishment could be handed out if they are found guilty.
