While Toon manager Eddie Howe said on Friday there was hope of positive news next week regarding Guimaraes' recovery, Brazilian sources are stating otherwise.
ESPN Brasil is reporting Guimaraes has suffered a posterior muscle injury in his left thigh - which will leave him sidelined for TWO MONTHS.
Guimaraes has been confirmed to be out of Brazil's friendlies against Croatia and France in March.
He is expected to soon travel to Brazil to be treated by national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, allowing Carlo Ancelotti's coaching staff to closely monitor Guimaraes' recovery.
