Harry Maguire resisted two major offers to re-sign with Manchester United yesterday.

The England defender, 33, has signed a new one-year contract with an option for another 12 months.

The Sun says Maguire had offers from David Beckham's Inter Miami and current Serie A champions Napoli.

However, his preference was always to remain at Old Trafford after fighting his way back into becoming a first-choice for both current manager Michael Carrick and predecessor Ruben Amorim.

Along with extending his career at United, Maguire also has plans to begin taking his coaching qualifications.

Maguire said yesterday: “The determination throughout the whole club to fight for major trophies is clear for everyone to see and I am confident that our best moments together remain ahead of us.

“You can feel the ambition and potential of this exciting squad.”
