West Ham United are just behind Forest by three points less.
Dyche said, "The owners have always had contact with me.
"The owner is well aware, and I made it clear to him, that this would never go smoothly all the way. We have seen both good days and a few less good days."
Dyche believes his fate isn't decided match-to-match.
"I don't think a single match will be so decisive that he will suddenly say: 'Okay, we have to change everything in the club for the fourth time'."
