Flu revealed in a statement that they have also reserved 10% of the future resale price. Wolves will pay €22 million, and the winger will sign a four-year contract.
Specifically, Fluminense will receive €16 million, while Patriotas, the Colombian club that holds a percentage of his rights, will receive €6 million.
Fluminense's statement read: "Fluminense FC has completed the permanent transfer of attacking midfielder Jhon Arias to Wolverhampton Wanderers in England. The club retains a 10% stake in the Colombian player's future transfer. Arias will hold a farewell press conference this Saturday (July 19) at 11:00 a.m. at the Carlos Castilho Training Center.
"Jhon Arias joined Fluminense in August 2021 and has left his mark on the club's history. With Fluminense, he won the 2023 CONMEBOL Libertadores and was the hero of the 2024 CONMEBOL Recopa, scoring both goals in the 2-0 victory over LDU in the final at the Maracanã Stadium.
"Arias also won the Carioca and Guanabara Cups in 2022 and 2023. He has played 230 games, scored 47 goals, and provided 55 assists for the club.
"Thanks to his performances for Fluminense, Jhon Arias has been called up and has become a key player for the Colombian national team.
"Fluminense thanks him for his dedication and professionalism and wishes him every success in his new career."
