Emery has guided Villa into title contention despite a restricted transfer budget and battles with the Premier League Profit & Sustainability rules.
Ahead of today's clash at Newcastle, Pearce said: "When you look at the bench beyond that, it's not as strong as all these other teams, especially Arsenal and Manchester City and the like, so Emery's hands are tied.
"I don't know if the frustration he feels from now on will be too much for him, not being able to take this team any further than they are, and what the implications will be for him and his job security in the future.
"Because he has certainly alerted many clubs that there is an exceptional manager there."
