Reports over the past week have linked Mateta to Aston Villa and Juventus, stating that the Frenchman had handed in his transfer request and was desperate to leave this January.
This news comes on top of losing Marc Guehi to Manchester City and crashing out of both domestic cups, which Mateta is said to be a sign that the club are not trying to be competitive.
Glasner was honest about a number of subjects in his latest press conference and gave a number of crucial updates on Mateta.
"Very clear. He didn't hand in a transfer request, and we have no bid received right now. That's the situation."
"I speak with many players about different topics, but it's a service I don't tell it publicly."
“I'll repeat what I said two weeks ago - (for) every player there is a price where a club say okay. Evaluating the whole situation - age, contract, duration and a price where the club says 'okay we agree a deal' but no bid has come in, and, and he hasn't handed in a transfer request, and, and he will play Sunday."
The striker has netted 10 goals in 33 games across all competitions this season, and fired in 17 last season. Glasner, who is set to leave at the end of the season, will be keen on keeping Mateta until then and with little time remaining in the winter window it means the striker is likely to stay.
