In his first game in charge, Pereira oversaw a 3-0 playoff first-leg win at Fener, with Gibbs-White getting on the scoresheet.
The midfielder later said: "His message to us is that we're going to have a real identity of how we play and how we defend as a team.
"I feel like we've all bought into what he wants straight away, and I think that the most important thing is buying into each other and understanding each other.
"We've got a little bit of that already, and we showed that out there in abundance today. It's about learning off each other, and then taking it game by game."
Gibbs-White added, "We needed a clean sheet, 100%, and we needed a win. And I felt like today was the perfect moment with the run that they're on. To come here is difficult. It was an all-round incredible day."
