The first-leg in Istanbul will mark Pereira's debut as Forest manager.
He said on Tuesday, “I’ve been there twice in my career and had a very good relationship with the supporters. For me, it’s an honour to return because I have great memories. It’s special, of course, but now it’s time to organise the team and study the opponent.
“They’re having a good season and they’re a strong team. We cannot underestimate them. But I believe in my team, my squad, my players — and with our supporters, we can do it.
"I believe a manager can inspire a team, and a team can inspire a manager. I’m the kind of person who believes we can face any opponent and aim for three points.
“If we go there only thinking about a draw, that is not the best way to face Fenerbahçe away. I know the environment and the fans. We need to go there without fear, go eye to eye, and prove ourselves. Football is about courage. That is what I appreciate about the players — facing the opponent with our tools, our identity, and our way of playing.”
The Portuguese also insisted: “We want to do well in both competitions. The most important thing is to believe we can win the next game.
“When you’re playing three games a week, everyone has to be ready and understand what we ask, even if they start on the bench. We can’t play every match with the same starting XI — it’s impossible to maintain the same intensity and energy.”
