Spurs has lost six straight games in all competitions before grabbing a draw against Liverpool at the weekend which slightly helped their chances of staying up this season as the edge towards relegation.
Tottenham have had 3 different managers this season and have to start winning game in the league if they are to remain in the top flight next season after a dire campaign so far.
Spurs suffered a shambolic 5-2 defeat at Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie last week.
Speaking ahead of the second leg at home, the Dutchman shrugged off criticism that the squad are unbothered about their situation.
"I've seen things going by, it's not something I look at a lot, to be honest. It's reporters just saying something. So we're just like, how do you even come up with this? Like players are switched off or don't care about the situation. What's happening right now?
"And the only thing I can say about it is it's not true. It will be strange if a player will be in a dressing room now and saying 'Oh, I'm gonna leave, either way or I don't focus about the situation'.
"It doesn't affect me. And I think it's just nonsense. It's the biggest nonsense. Everybody's just focused on what's going ahead and what's in front of us."
Van de Ven missed the match against Liverpool as he was serving a suspension from his red card in the 3-1 away defeat to Crystal Palace. He returns against Atletico as they attempt to stage one of the best comebacks in the competition’s history.
