Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has made his early Ballon d’Or predictions as he praises Vitinha.

Vitinha grabbed a hat-trick in the 5-3 UEFA Champions League win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, as the former Wolves star proved once again why he is often named as one of the best midfielders on the planet.

Last year, Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé lifted the Ballon d’Or as he beat out the likes of Lamine Yamal and Vitinha to lift the award. However, speaking after the loss, Frank believes this year is Vitinha’s as he continues to find the back of the net.

“The next Ballon d’Or winner will be again from PSG. It will be Vitinha”.

“The best midfielder in the world, and he’ll be the next Ballon d’Or winner. Wow, what a player.”

Vitinha has some strong opposition for the award however, as he comes up against the likes of Kylian Mbappe (27 goals in 22 club and country appearances), Harry Kane (14 Bundesliga goals, 5 Champions League goals), and Erling Haaland (32 goals in 22 games).

The World Cup next year will also be a huge factor and Vitinha will hope to help guide Portugal to their first ever World Cup win, which would help his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or as PSG aim for back to back wins.

Meanwhile, Spurs welcome The Cottagers to north London as they attempt to climb into the top four after slipping behind the likes of Bournemouth and Sunderland.
