Manager Pep Guardiola and his side are 11th in the standings and are only outside the top eight on goal difference as they seek to avoid a play off and secure automatic promotion to the next stage of the tournament.
However, despite a win being imperative, City won’t have it easy thanks to defensive injuries to Josko Gvardiol (leg break), Ruben Dias (hamstring) and John Stones (thigh) who will leave Guardiola’s side exposed at the back once again.
In midfield, City will miss Mateo Kovacic (ankle / foot), Oscar Bobb (thigh injury), Nico Gonzalez (unknown) and finally Savinho (thigh) who Guardiola commented on this week:
“Savinho still stuck. Yesterday he ran on the pitch, so maybe two weeks or three weeks, or maybe less, I don't know.”
It is thought that Haaland is not carrying an injury and should be fit to start on Wednesday, but reports have doubted as to whether he will start the game as Guardiola aims to rest the striker after an intense few months.
January signings Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi are both ineligible until the knockout rounds of the Champions League, which means City will rely on youth to fill the gaps once more this week.
