Kane is still chasing Robert Lewandowski’s single-season record of 41 goals after bagging 31 goals from 26 Bundesliga appearances throughout the campaign this season.
However, the England captain suffered a minor ankle injury while on international duty with England and missed the friendly against Japan on Tuesday and will now miss this weekend’s clash.
This was confirmed by Kompany in his latest press conference in what is a worry for the German champions who are 9 points clear at the top of the table.
"Harry trained well until Sunday, then he felt something in his ankle while with the national team.
"That will have an impact on tomorrow's game - he won't be available. Nevertheless, I'm positive about Tuesday. It's not great, I'd like him to play against Freiburg, but as things stand today that won't be possible."
“However, looking ahead to the Champions League quarter-final first leg, the Belgian manager added: "I am rather positive about the game on Tuesday in Madrid."
Kane will be rested this Saturday, just three days before the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid which is the more important clash as the German side aim to book their place in the Semi Final.
