Noussair Mazraoui was spotted leaving St James’ Park with a heavy limp after Manchester United lost to Newcastle United.

United suffered their first defeat under Michael Carrick on Wednesday night as William Osula's scored an injury-time winner to hurt their dreams of finishing inside the top 4.

With Chelsea picking up an emphatic 4-1 victory at Aston Villa, United will be worried that their Champions League ambitions could be crushed if they do not get back on track.

What is even worse for Carrick is that defender Noussair Mazraoui, who was handed his first start since December for the trip to Tyneside, was seen limping off the pitch.

United are not back in action until March 15th against Aston Villa and Carrick will give an update ahead of the clash as fans await to see if the 28-year-old is facing a spell on the sidelines or not.

Manchester Evening News report that the Moroccan international was spotted walking with a small limp and looking uncomfortable after the game which only adds to United’s injury woes.

The Red Devils also have Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Dorgu out at the back as Carrick’s defence grows weaker each week.

United remain third in the Premier League table despite their defeat to Newcastle but could drop further down if Carrick cannot start to find 3 points consistently again.
