Eberl insists Kompany has been key to Bayern's revival over the past 12 months.
He told Sky Deutschland: "We were unsuccessful the season before, without a title, and only finished third in the Bundesliga. Then he came in and revitalised this team to some extent with his intensity, his desire, his energy, and his joy.
"Players who had previously been pigeonholed came out again, are healthy, and can perform to their potential. That's how something happened last season.
"Vincent Kompany - despite his experience in the Premier League and having played at the top level - is coming to such a big club like Bayern Munich with everything that goes with it, including off the pitch. And the way he's handling it is simply fantastic."
