Delap, 22, has recently returned from a two-month hamstring injury and is slowly working his way back into the Blues side under manager Enzo Maresca.
The young striker made his return against Wolves earlier this month, having just 3 touches in the first half in a performance that Maresca said “was not easy for many reasons”.
Now, as reported by the Daily Mail, Delap is hoping that a good second half of the season can help put him in contention for this summer's World Cup, which is just over six months away.
Tuchel plans to speak with Delap before the next international break in March, but the German boss also has the likes of Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, Dominic Solanke and Danny Welbeck to consider alongside star man and England top scorer Harry Kane.
The former Chelsea boss is expected to attend several more games before March as he plans out his side. There is just one more international break in March before the tournament begins, and many feel his next team selection will be the side that heads across the pond.
Delap is yet to score for Chelsea in the Premier League after missing most of this campaign due to his injury, and Tuchel is unlikely to pick a player who cannot score in the top flight.
