Papin, who won the Ballon d'Or in 1991, told RMC Radio: "I think he's the biggest attacker in the history of the French national team. And I think he's getting even bigger."
Papin also insists that the fact Mbappé has not won the Ballon d'Or yet shouldn't be held against him.
He added, "I never played to win the Ballon d'Or and I won it. On the other hand, I would have loved to win a World Cup, and I never did, but Mbappé has done so."
