Earlier this week, Riolo declared Mbappe and Real Madrid avoided "catastrophe" after the club's medical department failed to properly treat the strikers knee injury. Indeed, Riolo even claimed club staff were treating the wrong knee.
At his France media conference this morning, Mbappe denied the claims, branding the wrong knee claim as "false".
However, Riolo later doubled down, telling Cadena SER: "This information is not false, everyone knows the truth and it's all a strategy not to humiliate Real Madrid, who have taken people for fools.
"I think this is very difficult information for Real Madrid and for Mbappé. Right now, everyone knows the truth. He has decided to lie in the United States, saying that the information is false. Everyone knows it's true. Mbappé's communication strategy is catastrophic.
"I think it was Real Madrid who asked him to do it, because Madrid has been hiding this information for a month and a half... Real Madrid has been humiliated. And Mbappé didn't want to upset his club. They decided to lie and say this information is false, while everyone knows it's true.
