The Northern Irishman had been out of work since October when he resigned as Celtic boss. Now, he switches the Scottish first division for the Saudi Pro League in what is a huge move for the former Liverpool boss.
Al-Qadsiah, who sacked their Spanish manager Michel Gonzalez at the weekend, are fifth in the Saudi Pro League after nine matches, 10 points behind the leaders, Al-Nassr.
James Bisgrove, Chief Executive Officer of Al-Qadsiah Club, spoke on the move which may push the club to the next level:
