The Northern Irishman has been out of work since October when he resigned as Celtic boss. The Scottish side accused him of being “divisive, misleading, and self-serving” after the he left the club who have not bounced back under new head coach Wilfried Nancy.
Now, according to transfer expert David Ornstein, the former Liverpool boss is set to join Al Qadsiah in what is a huge change for the Northern Irish coach.
“Al Qadsiah close to agreement with Brendan Rogers to become new head coach. 52yo available after Celtic exit + travelling over as work continues to finalise deal.
“Ambitious Aramco-owned #AlQadsiah 5th in #SPL & move to new stadium in 2026.”
The deal could become official before the end of this week as he follows in the footsteps of his former player Steven Gerrard who already had a spell with Al Ettifaq before leaving last year.
The Saudi Pro League side are also understood to be a club who are keen on signing Mohamed Salah whose future is uncertain heading into the January transfer window.
