Over the winter window, Neves was linked with a move back to the Premier League. Manchester United, who are keen to rebuild their midfield, were reportedly interested but a deal never came to fruition.
Now, as reported by the club on Wednesday afternoon, Neves has signed a new 3-year deal as he aims to league the Saudi Pro League champions to more success.
“His Highness signed the contract extension with Rúben this Wednesday afternoon at the club’s headquarters in Riyadh.
“Rúben has delivered outstanding performances with the team, contributing alongside his teammates to Al-Hilal’s achievement of five titles: the King’s Cup, Roshn Saudi League, two Saudi Super Cups, and Riyadh Season Cup.”
Neves has 8 goals and 5 assists for the club in just 17 appearances and will next feature against Al Okhdood on Thursday night as the side aim to push their lead at the top of the table to 4 points under manager Simone Inzaghi.
Al-Hilal are unbeaten in the league this season and Neves will be hoping to guide the club to another league title as he finds success away from Europe alongside the likes of Theo Hernandez, Kalidou Koulibaly and Darwin Nunez.
