Indeed, after he was spotted with former manager Ruben Amorim's No2, Carlos Fernandes, it fueled talk that Fernandes would seek to leave Old Trafford this month.
The speculation came just weeks after Fernandes admitted feeling "let down" by United management which sought to sell him last summer to the Saudi Pro League.
However, BBC Sport says Fernandes is prepared to see out the season at Old Trafford before assessing his situation over the summer, when there will be only 12 months to run on his deal.
