Xavi keeping tabs on Man Utd situation as Al-Ittihad make contact

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting Xavi has an offer from the Saudi Pro League, but is hopeful of the position at Old Trafford opening up.

Al-Ittihad, after sacking Laurent Blanc, are keen to bring Xavi to Saudi Arabia as a replacement.

Xavi has previous experience in the Middle East having been both a player and coach of Qatar's Al Sadd.

However, he would prefer a move to the Premier League and his prefernce would be Ruben Amorim's job at United.

Amorim's position remains in doubt after defeat at Brentford left United sitting 14th on the Premier League table.
