Wolves have completed the signing of Girona defender Ladislav Krejci in a loan deal this week.

The 6ft 3in defender, who can also play in midfield, brings a ton of experience to Wolves after featuring for Sparta Prague, where he spent five years and won two league titles before moving to Girona where he made 35 appearances in all competitions last season.

A very proud moment for Krejci

The deal will automatically become permanent next summer for a further €23M if clauses are triggered, which is likely to happen as he provides cover and competition which is exactly what Wolves need under manager Vitor Pereira

Speaking on the move, Krejci says he is incredibly proud to join the side and that he is ready for anything that the English top flight may throw at him.

“It's a big pride for me. The Premier League is the best league in the world. It's big achievement for me, as a guy from my country.

“We have some big, big players who’ve played in the past in this league, and it's a pleasure for me to be one of them. I hope, and I believe, that I will continue not just to be one who played here, but also who will show something.

“I'm excited for every game, for every challenge.”

Pereira convinced him to make the switch

He also explained how Pereira convinced him to make the switch to Wolves after explaining how he would be implemented into the side.

“The talks were last week. They made a big impact and were very interesting for me, because the coach said he was excited from last year, from last season. He showed me and told me some basics of what he wants from the team and from myself.

“The first things were very interesting, and I'm looking forward to meeting him as a person, to working with him and building myself as a professional. It's interesting that we met in pre-season. I didn't know anyone personally but it's good. Now, I cannot wait to meet them on the pitch as teammates.”
