As reported by the BBC, the 28-year-old has returned to London from the Bees' training camp and will now hold talks with Brentford director of football Phil Giles as speculation over his future continues to grow, despite no knowledge of what Premier League side is leading the race to sign him.
It would be a huge blow for Brentford to lose two of their best players in one summer as the Bees have already lost Bryan Mbeumo whose move to Manchester United was confirmed on Monday afternoon.
Newcastle, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are all interested in the 28-year-old who joined Brentford from French club Lorient in August 2021 and has scored 49 goals in 149 games in all competitions for the club.
Wissa has been tipped to join Spurs boss Thomas Frank in North London but with interest from both Forest and Newcastle it is unclear whether the forward has made up his mind over where his future will be. According to BBC Sport, the Bees made attempts to tie the centre-forward to a new contract after losing Bryan Mbeumo to Man United but it is clear that those talks have failed.
Richarlison was left out of Tottenham’s match day squad against Reading on Saturday which may suggest that Frank will make a move for Wissa in the coming days and now that he has left their preseason camp he may reunite with Frank in the coming days.
