Newcastle agreed a deal worth £55M for Brentford forward Wissa yesterday and he is now taking his medical at the club’s training ground ahead of his move being announced later today ahead of the transfer deadline which is at 7pm tonight.
The 28-year-old will be handed the number nine shirt as manager Eddie Howe seeks to replace Alexander Isak who is reportedly taking his medical at Liverpool amid his move to the Premier League champions.
Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Wissa is undergoing his medical ahead of his move that The Magpies could announce in just a few hours time.
“Yoane Wissa's Newcastle medical is now underway. He will sign a four-year contract. £55m package”
With the DR Congo international soon to be announced, Howe is also preparing for the sale of Osula to Bundesliga side Frankfurt as revealed by the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope.
“EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle striker William Osula on verge of £30m move to Frankfurt.”
The 22-year-old had never before started a Premier League game but was called upon to lead the Newcastle United frontline but since Isak has been absent, he has stepped up under Howe. This has clearly caught the eye of Frankfurt who see the 22-year-old as a striker with a lot of potential.
