Newcastle have agreed a deal worth £55m for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa who has arrived at the club's training ground.

After approving Alexander Isak’s transfer to Liverpool, The Magpies are preparing to bring in the DR Congo international who will join Nick Woltemade who joined from VfB Stuttgart in a bid to strengthen Newcastle’s attack as Isak finally departs.

Brentford rejected two previous offers for Wissa from Newcastle this summer but the 28-year-old issued a statement on Sunday publicly confirming he wanted to leave and even accused his club of "unduly standing in his way" of a move away.

Now, as reported by Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, Wissa has arrived at Newcastle’s training ground as he prepares to undergo his medical.

“BREAKING: Yoane Wissa has now arrived at NUFC's training ground after driving up this morning!

“Medical set to begin before striker signs four-year deal

“He will take the No.9 jersey!

“£50m (+5m) package.”

Wissa, who turns 29 later this week, has made 149 senior appearances for the Bees, scoring 49 goals. He hasn’t featured for Brentford this season amid his transfer links to Newcastle and now he looks to be one of the biggest moves of the summer deadline day as fans await his announcement.

Last season he finished the Premier League campaign with 19 league goals to his name, just four fewer than Isak who will be perhaps the biggest move of not just the deadline day but the whole summer window once he is announced.
