Ahead of today's early kickoff, Emery said of their new addition: "He is very young. He was (having development) in Brazil, really being fantastic as a young player. He is a winger playing on the right side, but he is left footed.

“We signed him thinking in his development with us, exploiting his potential as a player, winger. He has good dribbling. He is playing usually in the right side offensively and defensively with the physicality, doing good work.

“He can defend, he can attack and he is intense. He is young, and the adaptation firstly is with our training sessions, and then progressively, hopefully, in the Premier League with the demands we have.”

Meanwhile, Alysson has stated: “It's always been a dream of mine to play in the Premier League, and when the opportunity presented itself, I was very happy.

“The opportunity became more real as the season with Grêmio was finishing, so from the first moment, I was so happy when I knew there was a possibility for me to come here.

“So that’s what made my decision – the dream, the enormous opportunity, with a club as brilliant as this, with a spectacular structure, so I think that’s what drew me here.”
