Tottenham are looking for their fourth head coach in merely nine months after the exit of Tudor over the weekend.
The North London club are in serious trouble as they are winless in the league in 2026 whilst also sitting 1 point above the relegation zone as fans fear the side will play Championship football next season.
De Zerbi is the Spurs' No 1 target and journalist Ben Jacobs reports that he is close to an agreement with the side.
“BREAKING: Roberto De Zerbi is now close to an agreement with Spurs following a breakthrough in talks. Five-year contract on offer.
“De Zerbi had told Spurs last week he wanted to wait until summer, but a lucrative long-term deal has made him open to taking the job now."
The former Brighton and Marseille manager is said to be offered a 5-year deal which includes a release clause in the event of relegation according to the Daily Mail.
Sky Sports report De Zerbi is now open to taking the job and Spurs are pushing hard to persuade him this week in time for their clash against Sunderland this Sunday.
With just 7 games remaining, De Zerbi would have a mammoth task on his hands to turn the side around. The club desperately need a win in the final stretch or they will drop down as teams below them such as West Ham continue to pick up points.
