The Premier League champions travel to the AMEX Stadium to take on Brighton in the lunchtime kick off on Saturday as they aim to build on the back of their 4-0 win over Galatasaray.
Arne Slot’s side are hoping to complete their first league double over the Seagulls since 2019-20 following their 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture at Anfield in December.
Liverpool dropped points for the second consecutive match in the Premier League last Sunday as they drew against Tottenham and now must win if they want to keep their title hopes alive.
Ahead of the clash, Slot will be without Conor Bradley (knee), Giovanni Leoni (knee) and Joe Gomez in defence as he turns to Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Jeremie Frimpong at the back.
Further up the pitch, Liverpool will miss Alexander Isak (calf / shin), Wataru Endo (anke) and Mohamed Salah (other) who felt a strain against Galatasaray as he signalled to be taken off.
What happened to Salah?
Asked about Salah’s injury in his press conference, Slot said the winger is lucky that the international break is close so he can recover.
"The good thing for Liverpool and for us is that we go to an international break. The bad thing for Egypt is that he can't go there.
"We are hoping also with what Mo has shown in the past that he can recover faster than other players might in similar situations because he takes such good care of his body. History has shown that he can be earlier back than some others.
"But it's only two weeks when we go again so let's hope in that period of time he can be back."
“So let’s see where he is for the weekend and afterwards.”
Salah’s goal marked his 50th in the Champions League but he won’t be able to continue his goalscoring form against Brighton as reports suggest that he will not return until after the international break.
