Tottenham defender Cristian Romero says he will put in more effort than ever to save the club from relegation.

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor has failed to register a single win in the Premier League since taking charge in February, a run that has left Spurs one point away from the relegation zone with 7 games remaining.

The North London side face Sunderland (A), Brighton (H), Wolves (A), Aston Villa (A), Leeds (H), Chelsea (A), Everton (H) in their final games in what is a tough run to avoid falling to the Championship.

Romero, speaking after the defeat to Nottingham Forest, says he will put his heart and soul into the games that remain as he desperately tries to avoid relegation this season.

"It's a difficult day for everyone, but the first thing is to speak about the fans. Thank you for today and always staying with us. They gave us fantastic support, but about us, it's a bad day. Now it is finished, and the most important thing is to understand the situation.

"It's not easy, but the most important thing is to get to national team and back here for the last seven finals. I promise to put 200 per cent in every one and for me, it is not easy, but we have to stay all together. It's a bad day yeah, but we will go again."

Spurs haven’t won for 14 league matches, with their last Premier League triumph coming against Crystal Palace back in December.

With their remaining fixtures, wins seem unlikely and as teams below them continue to pick up points, Romero will be worried that his side are destined to go down.
