Reports on Thursday morning suggested that Jurgen Klopp's contract as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer was reportedly under threat as the German was preparing to leave the organization.
The former Liverpool boss walked away from the dugout in 2024 and stated earlier this year that he does not expect to return to management.
"I don't expect to change my mind, but I don't know. We're building a house right now and my missus wanted to have a really big trophy room.
"There was another small room and I said, 'This is enough, because we know how many trophies we have, we will not add any.' It might sound arrogant, but I know I can coach a football team. But I don't need to do it until my last day."
Rumours are nonsense
As report grew on his future on Thursday, Mintzlaff has stepped in to clear up the situation which he says is not based on facts.
“That’s complete nonsense and totally unfounded.
“On the contrary, we are extremely satisfied with Jurgen Klopp’s work.
“He invests a great deal, is in constant communication with our coaches and sporting directors, and is sustainably developing our Red Bull football philosophy.
“We are convinced that he is the right man for the job. That’s where we are focusing all our energy and attention.”
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, who will leave the club this summer, was linked with replacing Klopp in a move that looks impossible despite various reports suggesting the move will happen this week.
