That's according to Estadio Deportivo, which is reporting the Newcastle United captain would favour a move to Spain and Real Madrid should they firm up their interest.

United are currently in contact with Guimaraes' camp and talks are said to be progressing positively, according to English press sources.
However, in Spain, it's claimed should Real Madrid get serious about signing Guimaraes, the Brazilian would jump at the chance of moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.
It's suggested Newcastle would be ready to sell for around €80m.
