But Hakimi insisted in his UEFA media preview on Monday: "We don't feel superior to everyone, far from it.
"The important thing is to enjoy ourselves when we play together. We have the same objectives and goals. We want to win for the club for our team. It's fantastic to be able to celebrate winning.
"This type of a competition, there is no such thing as favourites. We've already seen it is possible for a team to come back even from 2-0 down.
"We are in a very positive mindset having said that. We have a lot of confidence at the moment and I think Tuesday is a really important game for us.
"We are going to be very focused and I think also we are going to have to take care of the details. Every single last detail. We are prepared to give absolutely everything, as are Liverpool. Both teams will be going for it."
Hakimi believes they will benefit from experiencing Anfield in last season's Champions League.
"We know of course there is going to be a wonderful atmosphere," he said. "We know all about that and the Liverpool fans and our fans will be here tomorrow to support us.
"We know what happened last year. That gives us more confidence in ourselves to manage the game.
"Sure we can say this is a key moment in the season. This is the time to give 100% in training and matches, to be focused and really help out our team-mates. We know we can do fantastic things together. We know it is a key moment in the season."
