Fernandes scored two goals and provided one assist as the Red Devils strolled to a comfortable 4-1 win over Wolves on Monday night. The Portuguese international is back to his best this season and is on course to win the player of the month award.
However, despite his performances, Parker spoke with GOAL as per ‘gambling portal British Gambler’ about how Fernandes needs to work on his positioning in midfield.
“When you look in the middle, Casemiro does a great job. He is about the players around him. You put him in more consistent sides in the Premier League, he would look a different player. He would be respected and sort the tempo out.
“At Manchester United, he is playing next to someone that doesn’t stand still. He (Fernandes) is like my one-year-old, you leave them somewhere, but they are not going to stay there, you put your head down and he’s gone.
“When he’s gone, he doesn’t leave you a note behind about where he’s going to be. That’s the thing with Bruno, he is going to score a goal or do an assist and the rest is all forgotten.”
The 31-year-old has made 306 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 102 goals. In 2026, he will have just one year remaining on his contract, putting pressure on manager Ruben Amorim to lock him down to a new deal.
United are set to face Bournemouth next Monday as the Red Devils aim to push into the top four. Fernandes may take Parker’s advice on board heading into the clash as he works on where he is on the pitch to improve his game.
