Howe has come under increased scrutiny in the past week after being hammered 7-2 at Champions League opponents Barcelona and losing at home to Northeast rivals Sunderland in a matter of days.
But Newcastle insiders insist Public Investment Foundation chiefs are not discussing replacing Howe and instead will back the manager and the club's recruitment staff to improve the squad over the summer market.
As it stands, Newcastle sit 12th on the Premier League table, with little chance of European qualification this term.
