Moyes glad he doesn't pick the England squad

Manchester City loanee and Everton winger Jack Grealish missed out on the England squad this week as manager Thomas Tuchel overlooked him. Moyes jokes that he is thankful he isn’t picking the squad.

"I am glad I don't pick the England team because the England squad is a great group of players to choose from, really top players all around the country. Jack is one of them, he is in really good form but I am glad I don't pick the England team.

"He is showing the levels he can get too and we are hoping he continues with that.

"I believe he will be ready, he needs to continue on scoring goals and making assists."

Pickford's 300th appearance

He next spoke on goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and him making his 300th appearance for The Toffees in what is a monumental occasion.

"I think all round he is a really good goalkeeper. He is a very good shot stopper and very good with the ball.

"He has grown in maturity especially as he has been around England more. He's got a bit about him but behind the scenes he is a serious goalkeeper."

Everton have appealed Dewsbury-Hall's suspension

Discussing Dewsbury-Hall's suspension, Moyes confirmed the Club contacted the PGMOL to try and appeal the yellow cards shown to the midfielder against Liverpool and West Ham United.

"We have spoken to (the PGMOL) and I think they're accepting that both of those yellow cards (against Liverpool and West Ham) were wrong.

"It's amazing – (Kiernan) is a boy who, when you look through his history, I think he had six bookings in total last year and the year before maybe five bookings, so he's never had these numbers at all.

"The last two decisions are terrible, they really are – more for the boy. We're going to miss him greatly but more for the boy because he's back playing regularly now and he's enjoying his football."

Team news

Finally, Moyes gave updates on Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl's and if they could feature against The Eagles this weekend.

"No change, they are both unfit for the game but they are both making progress, but they haven't made it on the grass yet. We will start to get them on the grass."
