The pair have been working away from the senior Blues squad after Sterling spent last season on-loan with Arsenal and Chilwell with Crystal Palace.
Maresca said today: "The situation is quite clear. They are training. They are waiting for a solution.
"When they leave it is just the club that will text or call me.
"It's the same when Lesley (Ugochukwu) joined Burnley. I have this kind of news from the club.
"I don't pay attention with the ones that are training and need to leave. I just focus on how we prepare the session and how we win games."
On Nicolas Jackson, he added: "Nicolas is ok. When the window is open, anything can happen. This also involves Nicolas' situation. We will see what happens."
