The 21-year-old midfielder signed from Rennes two years ago in a deal reported to be worth £23.1M under then manager Mauricio Pochettino, who joined the side earlier in the summer. Now, much like a lot of Blues stars this summer he has been deemed surplus to requirements as now manager Enzo Maresca continue his squad clear out.
He played 31 games at the south-coast club, registering three goals and assists in all competitions and now journalist David Ornstein has reported that newly promoted side Burnley has agreed a deal to snap him up as they build a side capable of avoiding relegation.
“EXCL: Burnley reach agreement with Chelsea to sign Lesley Ugochukwu. 21yo set to travel for medical & complete permanent move from #CFC to #BurnleyFC on 5yr contract. France youth int’l significantly bolsters Scott Parker options at No6/8.”
The likes of Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga and more are believed to be on the transfer list as well as Ugochukwu whilst RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons is expected to head in the opposite direction in the coming weeks which explains the need to sell the club’s dead wood.
Burnley are also in discussions with Chelsea for their striker Armando Broja who spent last season on loan at Everton and clearly see value in the players the club do not want much like their London Rivals Arsenal who snapped up Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke earlier this summer.
