Palmer is available

The Blues will be confident however as they are unbeaten in their last 30 top-flight home meetings with the Toffees, which is the longest unbeaten home run against an opponent in their league history.

Maresca firstly addressed team news and fatigue in the squad as the hectic festive period continues to throw fixtures at the West London club.

“I said already many times, they work every day to play games. The Atalanta game, Enzo, Marc, they are playing many games. It's normal that the level is not always the same. I've no doubt Andrey (Santos) will have his chance, Jorrel (Hato) the same. Hopefully tomorrow - or soon - we can give them chances.

“He's available (Cole Palmer). He finished the session with us yesterday with a mixed feeling, but he's okay. Wes (Fofana) is fine. He completed the session yesterday. He's fine.”

Maresca "relaxed" despite poor form

Maresca has been named the Premier League's manager of the month for November after picking  up 10 points from a possible 12. The Italian spoke on winning the award and how despite great performances last month, his side needs to drastically improve after a dire start in December.

“This kind of thing, it's because you do the right things. Performances and results were fantastic. We didn't start December in the way we like. Three games in a row in one week, we didn't get the results we expect, but we focus on the next one.

“It's football - it's completely normal. We are always looking for problems and things we need to solve. The Leeds game was eight/nine days ago, we are not going to change our season because we didn't get the points we expect. I'm completely relaxed. It's football, that's the reason why we drop points.”

Dewsbury-Hall will be a challenge

Finally, Maresca opened up on Everton, which is a great chance for his side to fix their inconsistencies. Everton won an away league game at Chelsea since 1994 and manager David Moyes is winless in all 20 of his Premier League away matches at Stamford Bridge.

"For sure, it's important but all the games are important. Bournemouth was important, we have Cardiff and then Newcastle, so yeah really important.

On facing former Chelsea star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: "I didn't have any doubt about Kiernan. The more he plays, he is going to be better. But he was good for us. But there was a big competition for him."
