It's suggested Adeyemi is demanding a hefty pay-rise and the insertion of a buyout clause set at €80m in order for him to re-sign.
Watching developments are Manchester United and a boost in their interest was Adeyemi's recent move to sign with super agent Jorge Mendes, who has good ties with Old Trafford management.
Adeyemi's future has been plunged into fresh doubt after a clash with coach Niko Kovac last week. Kovac hooked the Germany striker during their draw with Hamburg, which came just weeks after Adeyemi threw a water bottle at the BVB bench.
