Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia is close to finally leaving the side this week as manager Ruben Amorim clears out his squad.

United are in negotiations with Spanish club Elche over a season-long loan for left-back Malacia who was pictured alongside Antony and Jadon Sancho in the dressing room this week as the trio as close to leaving the club for good.

Besiktas and FC Porto reportedly also made attempts to sign the 26-year-old who has featured in and out of the first team for several years. Since arriving in England from Feyenoord for €15m back in 2022 he has made 47 appearances for the side, scoring 0. 

According to a report from Dutch publication Voetbal International, Elche are close to agreeing a deal with United for the Dutchman who has now future under Amorim who is desperately rearranging his failing side this summer. 

United will hope to move some players on in the final days of the summer transfer window including Antony, Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho whose move to Chelsea is drawing closer. Elche have started off the season well with draws against Real Betis and Atletico Madrid and time is running out for the side to snap up the unwanted United star ahead of Monday’s deadline.
