Ake, who rejected a move to West Ham this week, admits Koeman has warned him he needs to play more to be sure of making the Oranje squad.

He told the Manchester Evening News: “He has told me several times that he wants me to play more and sometimes it is difficult to call me up if I don't play a lot, that's obvious.
"Every player wants to play as much as possible," he added, "but I know the team is doing very well. The only thing I can do is fight and create chances when they come."
So far this season, Ake has made only three Premier League starts.
